My son, almost 9mo, finally got his first sippy cup today. Helped him with it at first, then he figured it out. He will probably transition completely from bottles to sippy cups by a year old.

Random weird flex i just remembered i have: i can say “i broke two nokias” out of context and mean it.

(I was one of their limited amount of customers when they experimented with their microsoft smartphones. Second one was dropped on a rock in the snow and worked with no problems. It was only after repeated falls that it finally shattered…internally. No new cracks on the screen or back glass. Just internal components went poop.)

Greenbrier resort in west virginia does afternoon tea. We stopped over for a day visit. Pretty neat. They even pour the tea for you. I feel so high class right now. Even my son is enjoying himself and hes just a baby lol. No hes not drinking tea. Hes just 8 months old.

Nerd me just figured out that Dinosaur (2000) is set in North America. There are some inconsistencies (like lemurs only existing primarily on madagascar and only evolving some time after dinosaurs died off, some species from different eras coexisting, stuff like that). But imdb has it official that Dinosaur is set in North America (basically a confirmation of my guess). Which means Lemur Island is off what would be modern day Mexico based on geology and climate. So it’s very likely the meteor impact depicted is the Chicxulub site. And I did do alot of research for this.

My green onions went bad in the fridge so about a week ago i cut the tops off and put them in some water. Green onions are really easy to regrow but if you plan on regrowing more than once or twice its best to plant them in soil.

My five month old is almost rolling over onto his stomach and already holding his bottle (when he chooses). Im so proud of my little dude.

I learned a new word today for a type of yokai born from inanimate objects from a youtube comment. Called tsukumogami. And i had a similar creature appear in my dreams as a child, tho i doubt toilet plungers have been around longer than toilets. But honestly a demonic toilet plunger would kill me only because i would be laughing too hard to breathe. The idea of something i could throw across the room coming at me going *schlup plop schlup plop schlup plop* just makes me cackle.

Tornadoes in central ohio. Unheard of in june. Its february. A storm chaser rolled through our town about an hour ago. Sirens were going off. Crazy weather this year.

This is why you dont assume the visible funnel is the whole tornado. I screenshotted this from reed timmer’s drone footage from the andover tornado last year. The invisible winds surrounding the funnel are just as dangerous as the funnel. Never really thought of posting this until now.
